Whitney Cassavetes is a surprisingly old kindred. Born Whilhelmina Cassandra Fredrick in 1802. Whitney - as she is known in these nights - was an outspoken, but obedient young lady; content to follow the path laid out for her by her family and by the virtue of her royal blood (Whitney is a sister of George III).
She was quite happy with her lot in life until she encountered a young Greek sailor, Andrei Cassavetes, who stole away with the young princess in the night. The two were wed in secret and within a fortnight they were on their way to the Americas.
It was in New York that Andrei was murdered - caught in a vicious battle between a Sabbat Vampire and the Washington Street Gang. With no one to seek justice for her, or to take revenge, she stole a pistol and a sword and looked after the matter herself. She cut a bloody swath through New York's street gangs before coming up against her master, a hoary old Toreador called Liam Poole.
Captured and questioned and entertained and educated, Whitney Cassavetes (as she was calling herself) was embraced and introduced into Kindred society. Unfortunately, her weak blood marred what would otherwise have been a grand story of a lost Kindred princess's rise to power.
Ostracized by her sire, hunted by her clan and coterie, Whitney abandoned New York; eventually coming to rest in San Augustin, where Prince Daniel Hope - already on his path to reclaim his Humanity - welcomed her in secret, granting her domain in Under Augustine and treating her as Autarkis - allowing her to live as she wished, outside the bounds of Kindred society.
In 1991, she met Wednesday and though wary of one another at first, the two soon became fast friends; the foundation of the Velvet Children was formed.


Whitney speaks English, French, German, Italian, and Dutch.

Demesne

Whitney owns the Apartments lining Under Augustine, one of which she shares with the other Velvet Children, her adopted daughters.

Allies

Whitney has allies in most all the shop owners and employees in the Underground, and she still has some pull at the Hope Foundation, which provides her a regular supply of blood.

Enemies

Though he is unaware of their connection, the Sabbat Malkavian who murdered her husband is here in the City. Crawl would be appalled to learn of this connection, but Whitney has no intention of explaining herself, and has become intent upon his destruction (which, as you can imagine, Crawl would take issue with, if he learned of it).
