Daniel Hope

A hale and healthy man, Daniel Hope carries himself with an almost regal bearing.

Daniel Hope is an author, poet, philanthropist, inventor, and scientist. He is the founder and CEO of the Hope Foundation, and is rarely ever seen outside that tower, and then only usually for his weekly lunch appointment with his son, Xander. Daniel Hope is San Augustin's own Bruce Wayne (minus the dressing up like a monster and beating up criminals).
The wealthiest man in San Augustin, Hope - suprisingly enough - refrains from getting involved with local politics, having recently denounced his membership at the Onyx Club, though still active in the Alumbrados Chamber at Club 79.
Daniel Hope is a former kindred living as a mortal in the old city. A thoroughly Humane creature, the former Prince of San Augustin took advantage of the upheaval of the Gehenna War and the Second Inquisition to fake his death and move on. Moving on entailed the creation of the Hope Foundation: a non-profit think tank with a focus on expanding interest in feeding the hungry, bringing the 3rd world into the 1st, eliminating slavery across the planet, and abolishing the wealth disparity world-wide.

Well, at least his goals seem reasonable. /s

Daniel Hope's history dates back to the "discovery" of the New World by Columbus, when he found himself the newly-embraced Childe of Aléxandros tis Makedonías. After exploring the Americas with his Sire, Daniel settled in San Augustin in 1672, establishing himself as Prince of the small city with the backing of both Alexander and his native-born blood-sibling, Degataga.
Prince Hope ran San Augustin as an experiment in governed freedom, allowing his Primogen to guide the direction of the City's growth and expansion, stepping in as a peace-maker and power broker only when needed. By the 1960s, he had largely withdrawn from kindred politics - ruling in absentia from his Haven, meeting with the Primogen on a monthly basis and largely avoiding all contact with his own kind.
By 1999, when the Sabbat made their last, failed push into the Old City, the Prince was dragged out of his seclusion and forced to help defend his City, after which, he disappeared completely for a number of years after vacating his position as Prince and allowing the Ventrue Celia Pena to take the reigns.
Two years later, Kindred everywhere were shocked to see Daniel Hope recorded on television attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Hope Tower, standing in the sunlight at 1030 AM. He has avoided all contact with kindred, and avoided inquiries about the question of the Masquerade with violence if need be. In 2019, he also vacated his position as CEO of the Hope Foundation, leaving his apartment and position to a minor YouTube celebrity named River Daye. He has not been seen since.

Though Daniel Hope is in all other respects a mortal, and he cannot channel his blood like a vampire, it is still potent, able to create ghouls and blood bonds. If he uses his blood in this way he suffers 1 Aggravated damage for each failed Rouse Check. He cannot replenish his blood (healing these wounds) through ingestion, and must wait for his body to do so naturally. Additionally, Daniel Hope can be diablerized. His Resolve is 4, his Blood Potency is considered to to be 3, and he is 6th Generation (for the purposes of lowering the Diablerist's Generation).
