Dylan Smythe

Dylan Smythe learned about the existence of Vampires during the Week of Nightmares, but he was still a child, and so kept that knowledge to himself once he realized that no one else seemed to believe it. As he grew up, he proved to be a driven man, and an accomplished businessman. In 2018, when his little brother turned out to be terminally ill with Cancer, Dylan knew instinctively that the Vampire community was his only chance to save him.
After an in-depth investigation, following up on the memories from his youth, Dylan found himself on the doorstep of Vulcan Arms and its Owner and CEO, Cassidy Ferrer. Dylan introduced himself, discussed his troubles with the Ventrue, and his plans should Cassidy be willing to give him the opportunity to prove himself. Ferrer, at the time, happened to be in need of a retainer, and so agreed to a three-year "apprenticeship", wherein Dylan would serve Cassidy faithfully and in return, Cassidy would make Dylan a vampire and teach him how to do the same if he still wanted to share the Blood with his brother.

Subject Hey, little bro.

Sorry I haven't written in awhile. Things have been pretty hairy here for a bit. Remember those Bluebloods I told you the Boss was a part of? Well someone "took 'em off the playing field;" and now Cass was told to step up and start acting like he belongs in this city.

It's meant I've had to spend a lot of time talking to the other longtooths, and whenever he has to go out and meet them or help them or tell them to stop acting like assholes and idiots, I usually have to go in his place. When I don't, I have to go along with him. Then I have to come back here and deal with his moods.

Cass doesn't like the other longtooths. Hell, I don't think he likes anybody. I'm 90% certain he only puts up with me, and I jump at his every whim.

Anyway... I don't want this to be a complaint-fest. The violence has died down and things are going well. My apprenticeship is coming to a close and I'll be able to come home and we'll take care of your problem.

Once we're both in the club, we'll head to London or somewhere else all the locals have been wiped out and we'll set up shop in the Vacuum. It's gonna be okay, little brother.
