The Nosferatu called Persephone was born Alice Granger, the only daughter of wealthy Boston real estate magnates. Living among the elite of 1940s Boston, Alice grew into a beautiful young woman, who attracted the attention of a score of suitors; but her doting mother had an obsessive love of her only daughter and kept the men at bay. For her part, Alice was less interested in being courted than she was in gossip, news, and learning as much as she could about anyone she encountered. Alice Granger collected information about Boston's elite, the way other women of the time collected needlepoint.
One suitor, she could not foil, however. Memnoch, a Bostonian Nosferatu who took notice of Alice and the way she effortlessly glided through society, coupled with her beauty, and the way she seemed to innately understand the flaws and motivations of those around her. Memnoch decided to embrace her, taking her first into his employ as a reluctant ghoul and petitioning the Prince for years before he was allowed to take a Childe. By the time of her Embrace in 1948, Alice was calling herself Persephone, sardonically laughing at the similarities between her story and the ancient myth.
Persephone earned respect among Boston's Kindred, and in 1969, she took a Childe of her own, though the circumstances of his embrace forced Persephone and Lil' Bill to flee Boston for a safer haven. The pair landed in San Augustin, where Persephone's talents and Bill's technological prowess allowed them both to ingratiate themselves into the local Kindred society.

Secrets

• There isn't much to be known about the Kindred of San Augustin that Persephone is unaware of. Her haven library includes volumes of personal journals detailing the things she has learned.

• Persephone belongs to the Sisters of the Rose and Cross - a coven of Bloodwitches who seek to maintain the peace and create some semblance of a balance of power in San Augustin.

Stories

• We Are the Night

  • With the death of Madame Sylvane, The Sisters need a Fifth for their Coven. Given her ability with Chemistry and Alchemy, Persephone intends to pursue Killian, unaware that she is no longer Thinblood.

• The Addiction

  • Someone has embraced a new fledgling and abandoned her. Unaware of what she is supposed to be or to do, the thing is threatening the Masquerade. Persephone would like the Coterie to handle it discreetly, and humanely.

• Suck

  • A local Kindred (one whose story they can't complete or one they haven't met yet) has succumbed to sickness, perhaps a resurgence of the Blood Plague that killed so many at the turn of the millennium. Persephone tasks the Coterie with locating the mad creature, give it the peace of final death, and collect some of its blood without biting it or being bitten. Then take it to the Hope Foundation for examination. River Daye will be expecting them.

• The Hunger

  • The blood sample from Suck appears to be similar to the Blood Plague. The Coterie must refrain from feeding for a full cycle of the moon, even if that means voluntarily entering Torpor.

• The Lost Boys

  • With the Coterie safe from infection, Persephone asks them to perform a wellness check on the other Kindred in the city, and to offer the peace of final death to any they come across who have already succumbed.

  • Persephone and the Barons would like to offer a Barony to the Coterie.
