"Eddie"
Edith Ducaigne

Edith Ducaigne was born at the height of the Great Depression, to horse breakers in central Wyoming. She had a fairly happy life, growing up on her parent's ranch, and though the world was reeling from the economic collapse, Edith barely noticed - they grew their own food and she had the horses and the wilds of the plains to keep her entertained. Caring for the animals on the ranch led to Edith taking an interest in veterinary medicine, which she adapted to nursing when she volunteered to join the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War.
She served in Korea until the end of the war in 1953, and was even the second woman to ever receive the Congressional Medal of Honor, when she was forced to pick up a rifle and lead the other nurses in the defense of the wounded during a particularly violent attack near the end of the war. Returning home from the war, however, left Edith - calling herself "Eddie" now, disenfranchised and dissatisfied with a lot of the trappings of modern life. Shortly after receiving her Medal of Honor, she abandoned her life and made her way to Florida, where she encountered a pack of Gangrel and was embraced.
Eddie believes she was embraced by the reclusive Crawl, given that he took responsibility for her, and has even claimed in public to be her sire; but the fact of the matter - unbeknownst to Eddie, and most other local kindred - Crawl is a Malkavian. Who knows why he claimed Eddie as his Childe - the motives of Crawl are confusing and illogical in the best of times.
During the inevitable violence that erupted following the arrival of the Nosferatu Prince, Eddie handled herself exemplarily - helping to quell the violence, preserve the Masquerade, and thoroughly impressing the Master. With no more suitable candidate, Eddie was named Sheriff, at least until that more suitable candidate comes along. Eddie, of course hates this, but is currently powerless to do anything about it.
