The kindred that calls herself Icosahedron was born Brian Mayfield in the spring of 1961. As a little boy, she became fascinated with computers, sometimes accompanying her father to work in the early computing world of Washington. By the time she was a teen, she was already certain she was a trans-woman, but fearful of coming out in the volatile 70s and 80s.

She was also a technological genius and an up-and-coming hacker in the East-Coast community, truly making a name for herself as cr@5h_0v3r1d3. In 1990, she decided to make the transition, and was living fully as a woman when, in 1995, she began bumping up against Schrecknet.

She was found and embraced before she had a chance to uncover or reveal anything dangerous.

Ico never really saw herself as a truly beautiful person in the first place - adopting a more shocking and attention-seeking demeanor as a mortal - and took to the Nosferatu lifestyle with ease, throwing herself headlong into the Kindred side of the Internet and adopting the new moniker 1c05@h3dr0N, after her second-favorite hobby.

When the Schrecknet was cracked, Ico was among the kindred attempting counter-measures and saving backups of everything before burning local servers and crashing as many connections as possible to make the problem seem as small as possible to the inquisition hackers. While they clearly failed, it was partly due to Ico's skill and quick-thinking that things weren't worse.

Since then, she's spent the majority of her time designing a new, more secure system to connect kindred through the existing inernet by piggybacking on what's already there - using subterfuge and more subtle encyption techniques on existing sites, including a rather ingenious messaging system using video streaming sites like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube (but not Disney, never Disney) - all hidden behind a series of "dummy networks" all pointing to each other and running into dead ends or seemingly innocuous mortal hacking communities.

Ico rarely leaves her haven these nights, except to feed and conduct "maintenance" - which typically involves installing, replacing, or repairing hidden audio-video surveillance devices in places they aren't really wanted. She typically deals with other kindred - and a few rare mortals - through the internet, monitoring things via local security cameras and accessing screens and sound systems to communicate.
